Inez and her daughter River escaped from Concow CA as the Camp Fire closed in on the morning of November 8, 2018. They had only the clothes on their backs. Inez and River spent many months couch surfing with friends and ultimately resorted to living in their car. No mother wants this for their child, and Inez was determined to find a solution. On August 4, 2019, Inez and River received their tiny home and a safe place to start rebuilding their lives. Inez and River enjoy their life in their tiny home and love fishing, swimming, playing with their dogs.

When we met her, Sally was a senior Camp Fire survivor, homeless and living in her van with her service dog Sam. Now she lives in a little beach-house inspired tiny home built just for her! Her house is equipped with a tub & shower, toilet, tankless electric on-demand water heater and a mini-split for heat and A/C. Sally says "When I was presented with my tiny home, I was so overwhelmed all I could do was cry. I thank God for Alyssa and all the people whose heart he touched. They have truly been a blessing in so many ways. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,"

Tammie and her disabled son Donovan were awakened on the morning of November 8, 2018 by a phone call to evacuate their Paradise home immediately, leaving behind all their belongings and memories. After 5 weeks of living in limbo, with the smoke and stress from the fire taking a devastating toll, Donovan tragically passed away. Tammie now faced the world without her son, living in her van. She came out to volunteer at our Tiny Home build site in Oroville, CA. She never asked for a tiny home, instead offering her help to others in need.
